At Hioki, we are passionate about creating a more sustainable and environmentally conscious society. We first made the transition to 100% renewable energy back in 2021 with a commitment to combating climate change and reducing our carbon footprint.
As a leading provider of electrical measurement, we are proud to be on the cutting edge of technology and innovation when it comes to energy efficiency and conservation. Hioki is committed to advancing safe and efficient energy practices to make our community a better place now and for the next generation.
Engineering Energy-Efficient Products
At LSI, our commitment to innovation and engineering excellence helps ensure that our products are environmentally friendly throughout their life-cycles. We are proud to say that our lighting products are among the most innovative and energy-efficient in the world.
In fact, if we compare the average efficacy of every LED fixture sold by the company in 2020 to the combined efficacy of older bulb systems, our products helped customers reduce their energy consumption for lighting by up to 67 percent.
In addition, LSI has transitioned nearly its entire product line away from inefficient bulb technology to highly-efficient LED lighting solutions. Today, our outdoor and indoor lighting products reduce energy usage by 44 to 90 percent as compared to older, traditional lighting systems. By using our own lighting products throughout our factories and offices, we have dramatically improved our own energy efficiency.
Along with energy-efficient LED technology, our lighting control systems produce additional energy savings, improve safety and help customers comply with lighting codes and ordinances. For example, our AirLink Blue wireless outdoor lighting control system uses photocontrols and motion sensors to reduce energy consumption and comply with various energy regulations, including California's Title 24 energy conservation requirements.
Carton Consolidation Project
Hunter's initiative to consolidate packaging and transport materials includes recycled packaging, reusable totes for transportation, and plastics composed of re-ground materials.
• 43% reduction in packaging materials
• Thousands of pounds annual reduction in freight
Hunter established a no-idling policy for vehicles loading and unloading at shipping docks.
One hour of engine idling...
• Wastes up to one gallon of fuel
• Releases 20+ pounds of carbon into the air
Hunter partnered with the State of Missouri's IAC to conduct an environmental audit and make recommendations for improvements. Many of their recommendations, such as a no idling policy at our loading docks, have been put into place.
